How can I help improve services for the elderly and individuals with disabilities in Yolo County?
We welcome you to advocate for individuals with disabilities, the elderly and in particular, IHSS consumers in the Yolo County. You can participate and contribute your time and advocacy skills by attending the public IHSS Advisory Committee meetings, sending your comments to the IHSS Advisory Committee and/or becoming an IHSS Advisory Committee Member. You may also call Kim Britt, Public Authority Director at (530) 661-2676 to discuss ideas and concerns pertaining to the delivery of In-Home Supportive Services in Yolo County.
Can I join the IHSS Advisory Committee?
The IHSS Advisory Committee is currently recruiting for 4 additional members. We invite interested individuals to attend one of our meetings and learn about membership requirements prior to submitting an application. Please e-mail us at hhsa.ihssadvisorycommittee@yolocounty.org to receive information. You may also contact the Yolo County Board of Supervisors at (530) 666-8195 or call the IHSS Public Authority at (530) 661-2676 for an application. When and where does the Committee meet?
The Committee meets at the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency office building at 25 N. Cottonwood St., Woodland, CA 95695 on the second Friday of each month from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Do I have to be an IHSS Consumer or an IHSS Provider to join?
No, you can be employed by an agency that serves and advocates for the elderly, individuals with disabilities, or for home care providers.
