How do I join the Public Authority Registry?
The first step to join the Yolo County IHSS Public Authority Registry is to call (530) 661-2676 to request an application and register to attend the next Registry or Home Care Now orientation. Yolo County has a high demand for IHSS Caregivers. Joining the Registry or Home Care Now allows IHSS Caregivers to be referred to IHSS Consumers who are ready to hire. We provide FREE referral services to both, IHSS Consumers and Caregivers! Join the Registry now and start making a difference in the community and individuals you assist!
The following requirements are necessary to join the Public Authority Registry:

Attend a Public Authority Registry/ Home Care Now Orientation
Attend an IHSS New Provider Orientation
(Not applicable if you are an active IHSS Provider. Please ask our Registry Specialist for more information)Department of Justice (DOJ) Criminal Background Clearance - LiveScan

Regional Criminal Background Clearance done by Public Authority
Interview with Public Authority Staff
(Scheduled after items 1-5 are completed)Pass Drug/Cannabis/Alcohol Screening
Tuberculosis Test Clearance (Results must be Negative)
Pass Employment Reference Checks
Home Care Now/Back-Up Applicants only - Applicants will need 2 years of experience and completed CPR/First Aid Training [Public Authority staff will coordinate this step]
